projects | riverside cabin

This evocative cabin, part of a larger site plan, fronts a half-mile long bend of the Bitterroot River on range land once famously crossed by the Nez Perce tribe in their flight.

Resting lightly in a small clearing of native chokeberry, alders, and aspen, the deceptively simple structure is carefully detailed and crafted as might be expected from an earlier era. This seasonal-use cabin is wrapped in operable windows that expand occupants experiences outward to the adjacent river, tree canopies, and mountains beyond.
